Earlier this year, I overcame a 50 year anxiety disorder called Paruresis. For all of my conscious life I have lived with what is also non-scientifically called a “shy bladder”. In this interview I talk about my recovery from this phobia with the Executive Director of the International Paruresis Association (IPA), Tim Pyle.

I plan on writing and talking more about my recovery from Paruresis, as I believe my story provides hope. It doesn’t really matter what a person’s anxiety is about; whether it’s shy bladder, fear of flying, or even fear of swimming or competing, I have found that we all have some level of anxiety around certain things.

My goal is posting this is to provide you with hope and possibility that it is possible to change our experience with anxiety. Mine did.
